What Do you Receive in Rehabilitation?
Rehabilitation is a necessary place for individuals suffering with a substance addiction as it gives you the opportunity to move away from your drug or alcohol use and begin to manage your behaviour.
Rehabilitation helps deal with a series of alcohol and drug addictions including:
- Alcohol addiction
- Drug addiction
- Prescription drug addiction
- Cocaine addiction
- Ketamine addiction
- Cannabis addiction
When you sign up for rehabilitation, you take part in a series of processes and activities to help control your addiction both psychologically and physically.
Detoxification
If you are addicted to alcohol or most drug substances, you require detoxification to withdraw your body from the reliance on the substance. Doing this alone in your home is possible, however it can cause heightened withdrawal symptoms and often leads to individuals to relapse or become seriously ill.
When you arrive at rehab, you will be medically supervised over 5-9 days period to effectively detox from your substance and bring your body physically back to normality.
Treatments and Therapies
To provide you with a better understanding of your addiction, and your behaviour in day-to-day life, you will take part in intensive treatments and therapies. These will aim to help you understand why you may be addicted to substances and how you can make changes to your daily life to manage your behaviour. Most leading rehabilitation centres use C-B-T (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) which is supported by evidence to prevent future relapse.
CBT can be performed in a variety of ways in a way that suits you best as an individual, including:
- One to one therapy
- Group therapy
- Family therapy
- Art therapy
Aftercare
Once you have finished your programme, you will be provided with full aftercare for up to 12 months (depending on the rehabilitation centre you choose) which will provide you with help moving forward as you continue to your recovery.
During this time, you will gain access to a helpline for any questions that you may have, as well as regular check ins with a member of staff from the rehabilitation centre.
How Long are Rehabilitation Programmes?
Then duration of your stay at a rehabilitation centre varies depending on the intensity of the programme you choose.
A standard detoxification programme can last up to 12 days, whereas the recommended stay for detoxification and a full intensive treatment programme can last up to 24 days.
When you speak to a member of our team over the phone, they will be able to provide you with a recommended duration time for your rehab programme.
Why Choose Inpatient Treatment Over Outpatient Treatment?
Inpatient treatment, which involves staying overnight in a centre, is generally recommended over outpatient treatment due to its many benefits for relapse prevention.
As well as the treatments being more intensive, and performed by private medical specialists in rehabilitation, staying away from your home provides you with the opportunity to speak to like-minded individuals who also suffer with the same addiction issues. This means that you can learn from one another during your road to recovery.

Cheaper Alternatives to Private Inpatient Treatment
Private inpatient treatment does cost money, and there are free alternative treatments to out there that you can find useful.
Free NHS Treatment
The NHS do provide free inpatient and outpatient treatment for drug and alcohol addictions, which are a good alternative to private rehabilitation.
However, the waiting times are significant and can leave people waiting months or years to get the help that they need desperately.
Private Outpatient Treatment
Rather than staying within a rehabilitation centre, there are rehab organisations that offer outpatient treatment. This can be through online treatment sessions on video calls, or attending the centres for the day.
This method is cheaper than private inpatient treatment, but going back home can increase the chances of relapse occurring.
